چکیده

The past decade has witnessed a growing interest in vehicular networking and its vast array of potential applications. Increased wireless accessibility of the Internet from vehicles has triggered the emergence of vehicular safety applications, locationspecific applications, and multimedia applications. Recently, Professor Olariu and his coworkers have promoted the vision of Vehicular Clouds (VCs), a non-trivial extension, along several dimensions, of conventional Cloud Computing. In a VC, the under-utilized vehicular resources including computing power, storage and Internet connectivity can be shared between drivers or rented out over the Internet to various customers, very much as conventional cloud resources are. The goal of this chapter is to introduce and review the challenges and opportunities offered by what promises to be the Next Paradigm Shift:From Vehicular Networks to Vehicular Clouds. Specifically, the chapter introduces VCs and discusses some of their distinguishing characteristics and a number of fundamental research challenges. To illustrate the huge array of possible applications of the powerful VC concept, a number of possible application scenarios are presented and discussed. As the adoption and success of the vehicular cloud concept is inextricably related to security and privacy issues, a number of security and privacy issues specific to vehicular clouds are discussed as well. Additionally, data aggregation and empirical results are presented. Mobile Ad Hoc Networking: Cutting Edge Directions, Second Edition. Survey the Security Function of Integration of vehicular ad hoc Networks with Software-defiend Networks

In recent years, Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks (VANETs) have emerged as one of the most active areas in the field of technology to provide a wide range of services, including road safety, passenger's safety, amusement facilities for passengers and emergency facilities. Due to the lack of flexibility, complexity and high dynamic network topology, the development and management of current Vehicular A...

When Cars Meet Distributed Computing: Data Storage as an Example

As cars are ubiquitous they could play a major role in a next generation communication and computation framework. In the last years, the development of vehicle-tovehicle communication and vehicle-to-infrastructure communication took huge steps forward and therefore gives us the tools to build “mobile computing service” on cars equipped with computation capabilities. Recently, several groups of ...

Guest Editorial "Vehicular Cloud Networking"

Vehicular ad-hoc networks have gained a significant attention during the last decades from the industry and academia with the goals of increasing road safety and traffic management among others. However, vehicles are normally constrained by resources, including computation, storage, and radio spectrum bandwidth. Many emerging applications demand complex computation and large storage, including ...

A New Routing Algorithm for Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks based on Glowworm Swarm Optimization Algorithm

Vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs) are a particular type of Mobile ad hoc networks (MANET) in which the vehicles are considered as nodes. Due to rapid topology changing and frequent disconnection makes it difficult to design an efficient routing protocol for routing data among vehicles. In this paper, a new routing protocol based on glowworm swarm optimization algorithm is provided. Using the g...

Third-order Decentralized Safe Consensus Protocol for Inter-connected Heterogeneous Vehicular Platoons

In this paper, the stability analysis and control design of heterogeneous traffic flow is considered. It is assumed that the traffic flow consists of infinite number of cooperative non-identical vehicular platoons. Two different networks are investigated in stability analysis of heterogeneous traffic flow: 1) inter-platoon network which deals with the communication topology of lead vehicles and...
